  Note: you cannot have 2 different offers where 1 has a RANGE of chips and another one has OR MORE condition. The Chips system will reward the users in both rewards offers according to the condition.\
  The EARNS condition is popular for membership rewards, where by entering the ranges, consumers could reach the 3 tiers of memberships. However, if you use 2 different offers with a RANGE and with OR MORE with concurrent values, you will get an error. e.g.\
  OK: 1-1000 chips → Silver membership\
  1001-2000 chips → Golden membership\
  2001-3000 chips → Platinum membership\
  WRONG: 1-1000 chips → Silver membership\
  500 OR MORE → Golden membership\
  1200 OR more → Platinum membership\ <br>
* SPENDS\
  \- Specify the amount of $dollars the consumer has to spend to qualify for the reward.\
  EXACTLY - will work when the consumer spends exactly X amount of chips.\
  OR MORE - will work when the consumer spends at least the amount you have entered of chips.\
  ADD RANGE - will work when the consumer spends the amount of chips within the specified range.\
  \- Specify how the $dollars are spend. Rewards can be triggered for overall spending as well as per unit(per dollar).\
  OVERALL - if enabled, the offer will work based on the overall spending. It can be set for a single transaction as is, or for the overall amount of spending based on cumulative transactions within a period.\
  PER DOLLAR - if enabled, the offer will work based on a single dollar spent. The value you have entered, will determine the amount of rewards calculated by multiplying the value you enter by the $dollars spent. e.g. for each dollar spent\ <br>
* PARTICIPATES\
  \ <br>
* FAVORITES\
  \- Specify what the consumer would need to mark as favorite. There are 2 options: brand and rewards.\
  BRAND - if selected, consumers can get rewards by marking your brand as favorite. Specify the Brand in the next field\
  REWARDS - if selected, consumers can get rewards by marking your rewards as favorite. Specify the Reward in the next field.\

When

**Offer Validity**

Set the start and end dates for your offer. The offer will be active and visible to the consumers on the mobile app on the set start date and will no longer be available to them on the end date. The offer will only be valid during the set period and does not have a separate timeframe for eligibility and reward. (e.g. excluded case: consumers buys product A from 01/01/2024 to 03/312024 but get the reward between 04/01/2024 to 05/01/2024). The validity of the offer assumes both the eligibility time and the reward time together. (e.g. if consumer buys product A from 01/01/2024 to 03/312024 they can get the reward also only during the offer validity dates)

Where

**Stores**

Select the stores where the consumers would need to buy the specified product from. This field is optional. If left unselected, the offer will be valid at all the stores you currently have enabled (active) in your Brand profile.

&#x20;

**Reward**

Enter chip amount

Enter the amount of chips the consumer will be rewarded with. When e.g. they buy the product and scan the product QR code, they will get the amount of chips you set here.

**Note:** By default, our chips equivalence to $ dollar is: 1 chip = 10 cents.

When you set a product for which consumers would get chips, the chips amount will be auto calculated, based on the retail price entered in the product details. In this scenario, you cannot adjust the chips amount.

However for all the other cases, you can manually enter the chip amount for the condition you have selected.

&#x20;

How will he reward be redeemed

Choose between Seller Sends @ Checkout and User Scans @ Terminal.

You can only choose one of the options at this time and cannot do both.

User Scans Product QR - use this redemption method if you wish the consumers to scan the QR code from the product. If you choose this method, you will need to specify the amount of printable QR codes to be generated, that you can print and stick on the product or package to make the QR code available to consumers. This method will work if:

* you specify the amount of QR codes for this offer
* you print the generated QR codes for this offer
* You stick the QR code on the product or package
* you ship the products to stores where consumers can buy the product with the QR codes

If you have chosen multiple eligible products in the condition section, you have the option to print 1 generic QR code for all products, or individual for each.

Using the QR code for scanning the products is an easy way for consumers to earn chips by interacting with your Brand.

Seller Sends @ Checkout - use this redemption method if you wish the sales people to send chips to consumers from the Chips app at the stores. This method will work if:

* Sellers from the stores can only send the chips to consumers if they have the Chips app access
* If the store has accepted your Brand’s invite
* If the offer you are creating includes the store where you wish the consumers to redeem

For sellers to be able to send chips to the consumers through the Chips app, they will need to ask the consumers one of the consumer identifiers:

* phone number
* email
* wallet QR code
* Offer QR

&#x20;

How many printable codes

Enter the amount of unique QR codes that you would like to generate. The generated QR codes can then be exported as CSV, images or html link to be used for your printing software to print them. The printed QR codes will need to be sticked on the products from the offer you’re creating.

This field will only be available in the offers where you have chosen the redemption method User Scans Product QR.

&#x20;

**Finalize your reward**

Title your reward

The title of your reward will be autogenerated, based on the condition and offer details you have entered for the offer your are creating. If you wish to change the title text, you can go ahead and delete it and input your text. If for some reason, you decided to go back to the auto-generated text, click on the Reset icon to get it back.

Reward image

Select the image that the consumers will see on this offer. You have 3 options: use brand’s logo, use the product image (if applicable) or you can upload an image from your computer.

Preview

In the Preview section you can preview the offer to make sure you didn’t miss any details. What you see in the preview of the offer: image, title and summary will be visible to the consumers on the mobile app.

All the other conditions, parameters, product and rewards details are not editable and cannot be modified after the offer is launched.

&#x20;

Can I adjust or extend a discount offer after it has been launched?

Can I create time-sensitive or flash discounts?

Absolutely! You can set up time-sensitive discounts, such as flash sales, that are only available for a limited period. These offers can create urgency and drive quick sales.

&#x20;

Are there any fees associated with offering discounts on the Chips platform?

The discounts feature is available to Brand in the Gold plan. If you are on a Silver plan you will need to upgrade to the Golden plan. There are no other fees associated with the discounts offering.

# Membership Rewards

The **Membership Tiered-Based Offers** in the Chips Loyalty Platform provide a dynamic way to enhance customer engagement by implementing a multi-level rewards system. Customers advance through tiers based on their activity and loyalty, unlocking progressively valuable benefits and exclusive rewards at each level. This tiered structure incentivizes continued participation and higher spending, as users strive to reach and enjoy the perks of higher membership levels. By offering differentiated rewards and recognition, the tiered system fosters deeper customer loyalty, increases retention, and drives sustained engagement with the brand.

&#x20;

On the Chips platform there are 3 types of memberships:

* Silver
* Gold
* Platinum

Brands can manage these membership as they see fit. Here are some examples how to leverage the memberships feature.

* Accumulation of chips - Consumers can earn membership rewards by accumulating chips through purchases, participation in offers, or other engagement activities on the Chips platform. Brands can set their own thresholds for memberships on the Chips platform to determine when consumers become eligible for the membership tiers. Each tier should offer progressively more valuable rewards.\
  For example:
  * Silver Membership: 1,000 points
  * Gold Membership: 5,000 points
  * Platinum Membership: 10,000 points\
    Consumers will automatically upgrade to a new membership tier when they reach the required points or engagement level.
* Assign Benefits **-** For each tier, clearly define the exclusive benefits that members will receive, such as free products, discounts, exclusive access to deals or VIP experiences.
* Time period - All of the memberships on Chips platform are ongoing. Chips accumulation is cumulative over time and is reached when the conditions set in the membership offers are satisfied. It is not currently possible to create memberships that are valid for a fixed period of time (e.g., one month, six months, one year)
* Activity-Based Thresholds - while most of the memberships can be earned through the accumulation of chips, our platform allows to earn memberships based on other conditions, such as: purchase frequency, spending amounts, engagement in social media, event, etc.
* Dynamic Adjustments **-** Brands can periodically adjust thresholds based on consumer behavior, market conditions, or campaign goals to keep the loyalty program competitive and engaging. Consumers that earn memberships during the offer validity dates will keep their tier, while you have the option to create new offers with different conditions for the new members.

&#x20;

Use Chips platform's analytics tools to monitor consumer progress toward thresholds. Analyze the effectiveness of the thresholds in driving desired behaviors.

&#x20;

How can I determine the right thresholds for my membership tiers?

Setting the right thresholds involves analyzing your customer base, their purchasing behavior, and the value you want to provide at each tier. Start by identifying the spending habits of your top customers and build your tiers to reward increased engagement and loyalty.\ <br>

Can I customize the benefits for each membership tier?

Yes, the Chips platform allows full customization of benefits for each membership tier. You can tailor chips, product rewards, discounts, and exclusive offers to align with your brand's goals and customer preferences.

What kind of rewards can I offer through membership tiers?

You can offer a wide range of rewards, including free products, exclusive discounts, access to special events, and personalized offers. The flexibility of the platform allows you to create unique and appealing rewards that resonate with your audience.

Can I change the thresholds or benefits after the program has launched?

No, you cannot adjust thresholds, benefits, and other elements of your membership offer. However, you can expire the current membership offer and create a new one, as needed, with the new conditions.

# Conditions

The **Conditions** feature in the Chips Loyalty Platform provides a powerful mechanism for brands to create precise and effective rewards offers. Conditions serve as the criteria that must be met for customers to earn rewards, enabling brands to tailor offers based on specific customer actions or behaviors. These can include conditions such as purchase items(products), purchase amounts, product categories, frequency of redemptions, or engagement with promotions. By setting detailed conditions, brands can ensure that rewards are aligned with strategic goals, effectively target desired customer segments, and optimize the overall impact of their loyalty programs.

Currently Chips Platform supports the following conditions:

* BUYS
* REDEEMS
* HAS EVENT
* EARNS
* SPENDS
* PARTICIPATES
* FAVORITES
* SCANS

&#x20;

BUYS - This condition triggers when a customer makes a purchase. It can be used to reward customers for buying specific products. Brands can specify the amount of products that would need to be bought with this condition. The amount can be specific(EXACTLY) , a range (ADD RANGE) or a bottom threshold (OR MORE). Example: Buy 1 exactly Product A to get 100 Chips.

REDEEMS - This condition is activated when a customer redeems their chips for products or discounts. It helps brands track how customers are using their accumulated chips. Example: When consumer redeems 200 chips, they get Product A. Or, When consumer redeems 10 products a month, they get 10 chips.

HAS EVENT - This condition is used when a customer has a specific event associated with their account, such as a birthday, anniversary, or signups. Brands can reward consumers on these events or use this to trigger special offers (coming soon).

EARNS - This condition occurs when a consumer earns chips with your Brand. It's a way to incentivize and recognize customer engagement and loyalty. This is a great condition to create membership tiers or use it for other use cases. Examples: Earn 1000 chips from Brand X to become a Silver member. Or, Earn 100 chips in January to get $5 discount. become a Silver member. Or, Earn 100 chips in January to get $5 discount.

SPENDS - This condition triggers when a customer spends a certain amount of money, either in a single transaction or over a set period (recurring). It can be used to encourage higher spending or reward loyal customers. Example: Spend $50 to get 10 chips. Or, For every $1 spent, get 1 chip.

PARTICIPATES (coming soon) - This condition is activated when a customer participates in a brand's promotional activities, such as contests, surveys, events, or social media engagements.

FAVORITES - This condition is triggered when a customer marks a product, category, or brand as a favorite. It helps brands identify customer preferences and tailor their offerings. Consumers will not see these offers on their mobile app. The offer will reward consumers for favoriting their brands or offers organically, without letting users abuse the offer.

SCANS - This condition is triggered when a customer scans a QR code, usually associated with a product, promotion, or event. Scanning the QR code can be used to provide instant rewards and drive engagement. Example: Scan this QR code to get 10 chips when you sign up with Brand X. Or, scan the social media post QR code, to get 10 chips.

&#x20;

These conditions provide you with a flexible and dynamic way to engage customers, personalize offers, and drive loyalty through the Chips rewards platform. By leveraging these conditions effectively, you can create highly targeted and relevant reward programs that resonate with your customers.

&#x20;

#### **Statuses for Rewards:** <a href="#statuses-for-rewards" id="statuses-for-rewards"></a>

1. **Draft:** When brands create a reward offer it becomes a draft by default. It is not visible to consumers and can be freely edited by the brand. This status allows the brand to finalize details and make adjustments before making the reward publicly available. If a Draft is deleted, the reward offer will no longer be stored in the system.
2. **Active:** The reward is ready for use but not yet visible to consumers on the platform. Once the draft is finalized, the reward can be set to active status to make it ready for publication on the offer’s start date.
3. **Published:** The reward is live on the Chips platform and visible to consumers. Users can redeem or earn this reward based on the conditions set by the brand. The reward remains in this status until it is either manually deactivated by the user or expired.
4. **Inactive:** The reward is temporarily unavailable to consumers but not permanently removed from the platform. Brands can deactivate a reward if they need to pause it for any reason, such as a temporary halt in promotions or inventory issues. A published reward can be moved to inactive status if the brand needs to pause its availability. It can be reactivated and published again later.
5. **Expired:** The expired reward will be unpublished and can no longer be reactivated or published. Expired offers are stored in the system.
6. Deleted: An inactive reward can be deleted. Deleting a reward offer is a final action, and the reward cannot be restored once deleted. Deleted offers are stored in the system.

&#x20;

**Brand**

When you create a Brand, it is initially saved as a Draft by default. While in Draft status, the Brand can be freely edited or deleted as needed.

Once the Brand has active or published reward offers, it transitions to an Active status, at which point it cannot be edited or deleted. To make changes to the Brand, you must first deactivate the associated offers, which will revert the Brand back to Draft status, allowing you to edit or delete it as required.

&#x20;

**Product**

When you create a Product, it is initially saved as a Draft by default. While in Draft status, the Product can be freely edited or deleted as needed.

Once the Product is included in an Active or Published rewards offer, it becomes Active and can no longer be directly edited or deleted. To make changes, you must first deactivate the associated offer if it contains only that single product. Alternatively, if the offer includes multiple products, simply remove the specific product from the offer. If the product is not part of any other offers, it will revert to Draft status, allowing you to make any necessary edits.

The only edit that is possible to do on an Active Product is the addition of QR codes.

&#x20;

**Store**

When you create a Store, it is initially saved as a Draft by default. While in Draft status, the Store can be freely edited or deleted as needed.

Once the Store is included in an Active or Published rewards offer, it becomes Active and can no longer be directly edited or deleted. To make changes, you must first deactivate the associated offer if it is linked solely to that single store. Alternatively, if the offer includes multiple stores, you can remove the specific store from the offer. If the store is not part of any other offers, it will revert to Draft status, allowing you to make any necessary edits.

# FAQ

# Best Practices

**Plan the Budget and Define Campaign Goals**\
Start by clearly defining what your brand wants to achieve with the campaign. What specific outcomes are you targeting? It's crucial to determine the conditions necessary for success on the Chips platform, including the strategies or configurations you'll apply to reach your goals. Set measurable KPIs, like boosting loyalty transactions by a specific percentage or hitting a sales target for promotional products during the campaign. Identify your break-even point and use it as a foundation for your projections. Over time, as you run more campaigns on the platform, your ability to forecast KPIs will improve with historical insights.

&#x20;

**Keep the Store Informed**\
Ensure that all customer-facing teams, including store staff, customer care, and social media moderators, are well-informed about the campaign. Stores play a key role in delivering a positive customer experience by addressing consumer questions and providing accurate information about the promotion. They also need to be knowledgeable about earning and redeeming offers, so that the transactions are valid and accurate.

&#x20;

**Avoid Overlapping Campaigns**\
When planning campaigns, ensure they don’t overlap with each other. Running multiple campaigns simultaneously can make it difficult to analyze their effectiveness and may lead to operational and communication confusion. In some cases, overlapping system settings could cause campaigns to cancel each other out.

# General Questions

Common Questions, Troubleshooting Tips, and Guidance for Earning and Redeeming Rewards

#### What is iwantChips / Cannopy?

Cannopy and iwantChips are loyalty platforms that let you earn rewards from participating brands and stores. Depending on the program, you may be able to earn chips by scanning eligible QR codes, purchasing participating products, or providing your phone number or Wallet QR Code at checkout.

#### How do I earn chips?

There are a few common ways to earn chips:

* Scan an eligible QR code found on participating products or promotional materials
* Give your phone number at checkout at a participating store
* Present your Wallet QR Code in the app to a participating store
* Participate in brand or store promotions tied to the loyalty program

Not every product, store, or QR code will be part of the program, so availability may vary by brand and location.

#### Where do I see my chips?

Open the app and go to your account page or open the dropdown on your home screen to view your available chip balances. Your chips will be organized by brand or “stack.”

#### What are “stacks”?

Stacks are the chip balances you have with different participating brands. If you’ve earned chips from more than one brand, you may see multiple stacks in the app.

***

### Scanning Questions

#### Why isn’t my QR code scanning?

There are a few common reasons a QR code may not scan:

* The code is damaged, blurry, or partially covered
* The lighting is too dark or there is glare on the package
* The camera is not focused clearly on the QR code
* The QR code has already been used
* The QR code is not part of the active Chips/Cannopy program
* The code is a legacy or transition QR code from an older program

#### What should I try if a QR code won’t scan?

Try the following steps:

1. Check Transactions in the Account Tab to ensure the transaction has not already been processed
2. Scan the code directly in the app
3. Make sure the QR code is fully visible and flat
4. Move to better lighting and reduce glare
5. Hold your phone steady and let the camera focus
6. If you have multiple products, scan each item individually
7. Make sure you are signed into the correct account in the app

If it still doesn’t work, take a close/clear photo of the QR code and contact <support@iwantchips.com> with images of the QR codes in question.

#### Do I need to scan each item individually?

Yes. Each QR code is unique and should be scanned individually. If you purchased multiple eligible items, each item’s code needs to be scanned on its own.

#### What if the QR code says it has already been used?

If a QR code has already been redeemed, it usually cannot be scanned again. If you believe the code was not used by you or there is an issue, take a close/clear photo of the QR code and contact <support@iwantchips.com> for review.

#### Can I use my phone’s regular camera app to scan the code?

While using your phone’s regular camera will work after following additional prompts, for reward-related actions, it is usually best to scan through the Chips or Cannopy app so the system can process the code correctly and more efficiently. If you are having trouble, the app scanner is the best place to start.

***

### Transition / Legacy QR Code Questions

#### What is a transition QR code?

A transition QR code is typically an older QR code connected to a previous version of a loyalty program or an earlier campaign. These may not scan normally in the current app experience.

#### I found a transition QR code. What should I do?

If you believe you found a transition or legacy QR code, please email <support@iwantchips.com> with:

* A close/clear image of the QR code
* A photo of the product or package if possible
* Any helpful details about where and when you got it

Our team can review it for verification and let you know whether chips can be added manually.

#### Why won’t a transition QR code work in the app?

Some older QR codes were part of earlier campaigns or transition periods and are no longer processed the same way as current active codes. In those cases, support may need to verify the code manually.

***

### Reward Questions

#### How do I see what rewards I can get?

Open the app and browse the available rewards. You can tap into a reward to view more details, including what it costs, how it works, and where it may be available.

#### Why can’t I redeem a reward yet?

Common reasons include:

* You do not have enough chips yet
* The reward is not available at your location
* The reward is only available at certain participating stores
* The reward is temporarily unavailable

#### How do I know where I can redeem a reward?

Open the reward’s details page in the app. This is usually the same page where you would generate the QR code to present at a store:

1. Open the reward details
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
3. Look for the list of stores that carry or accept that specific reward

That store list is the best place to confirm where the reward can actually be redeemed.

#### Why do I see a reward in the app, but not at my store?

A reward appearing in the app does not always mean it is redeemable everywhere. Some rewards are only available at specific participating stores. Always check the reward details page and scroll to the bottom to see the eligible locations.

#### What is the QR code on a reward page for?

That QR code is typically the code you generate when you are ready to redeem the reward at a participating store. It is different from your Wallet QR Code and different from a product earning QR code.

#### How do referral rewards work?

Some brands may offer referral rewards. If you sign up using a valid referral code, you may receive your signup reward immediately after creating your account.

#### What is a qualifying transaction?

A qualifying transaction is a reward-earning “buy” or “spend” transaction with the specific brand that issued the referral code.

Simply creating an account, using a referral link, or entering a referral code does not qualify the referrer for their referral reward by itself.

***

### In-Store Questions

#### What should I show at the store when redeeming a reward?

Open the reward in the app and generate the reward QR code on that reward’s details page by clicking "Claim Now". Present that QR code to the store staff when you are ready to redeem.

#### What is the difference between my Wallet QR Code and a reward QR code?

Your Wallet QR Code helps identify your account for earning or lookup purposes. A reward QR code is generated from a specific reward when you are ready to redeem it.

If you are trying to redeem something at a store, make sure you are showing the QR code generated from the reward itself — not just your wallet code.

#### Can a store help me earn chips even if I do not scan a product QR code?

Yes, in some participating locations, you may be able to earn chips by giving your phone number or presenting your Wallet QR Code at checkout.

***

### Account / Support Questions

#### I scanned a code but didn’t get my chips. What should I do?

If your chips did not appear, try the following first:

* Check Transactions in the Account Tab to verify the transaction has been processed
* Refresh the app
* Close and reopen the app
* Make sure you are logged into the correct account

If your chips still do not appear, contact support with:

* A close/clear image of the QR code
* A description of what happened
* The email address or phone number tied to your account

#### Who do I contact for help with scanning issues or older QR codes?

For support with scanning issues, especially transition or legacy QR codes, contact:

<support@iwantchips.com>

Please include clear images and as much detail as possible so the team can review faster.

#### What information should I send support?

To help us investigate quickly, please include:

* Your account email address or phone number
* A close/clear image of the QR code
* A product photo if relevant
* A short explanation of the issue
* Where you got the item, if known

### How do I turn off SMS notifications?

You can manage your SMS notification preferences directly in the app.

1. Open your **account by clicking the icon in the top left corner of the homepage**.
2. Select **Settings**.
3. Select **Account Details**.
4. Unselect **SMS notifications**.

You can turn SMS notifications back on at any time from the same menu.

**Note:** Turning off SMS notifications applies to promotional and reward-related messages. You may still receive necessary account verification or security text messages.

***

### Best Practices

Yes:

* Scan in good lighting
* Avoid glare on glossy packaging
* Hold the phone steady
* Make sure the full QR code is visible
* Scan each item individually
* Use the in-app scanner when possible
* Check that you are signed into the correct account
